Field surveys on species of Coccinellidae were conducted in 2013 in different bamboo forest located in 7 counties and cities of Zhejiang province. Total of 20 species belonging to 16 genera of 6 subfamilies of Coccinellidae were caught. Among them, two species are new records in Zhejaing province, and 16 species were first found in bamboo forest. The result demonstrated that caught numbers were order by Scymninae, Coccinellinae, Chilocorinae, Sticholotidinae, Coccidulinae and Epilachninae. The dominant species were Stethorus chengi and Calvia muiri. The common species were Exochomus nigromarginatus, Nephus bilinearis, Chilocorus kuwanae, Scymnus dichorionicus, Stethorus aptus, Harmonia axyridis.

Predatory coccinellid species (i.e., ladybeetles) are a group of important natural enemies in agro-ecosystem. In this review, we introduced international research on intraguild predation (IGP) among different species of ladybeetles as well as between ladybeetles and other natural enemies, explored the factors that influence IGP, and also analyzed the potential impacts of IGP on bio-control efficiency. The review will offer help for further assessment of IGP of coccinellid species, studies of relationship between landscape diversity and IGP, and promotion of synergetic utilization of coccinellid and other enemies in China.

In order to study the control effects of natural enemies on pests in Longan orchards, the predation of Phrynocaria congener and Scymnus sp. on the Cornegenapsylla sinica were studied in laboratory. The results showed that the functional responses of the two predatory ladybirds on C. sinica were of Holling’s II. The capitia of C. sinica preyed by the two predatory ladybirds were both increased with the increase of prey density. With the increasing of age of C. sinica, the searching rate of the predatory ladybirds decreased, and its handling time became longer. Comparison of the two predatory ladybirds, the P. congener performed the higher searching rate and the shorter handling time. Given a certain number of the same age of C. sinica, the feeding capitia of P. congener was larger than Scymnus sp. did.

This study investigates and analyses the elytra colored speck diversity of Harmonia axyridis(Pallas) and Propylea japonica(Thunberg) in Daming Mountain during the end of June and early July .The survey finds that there are 14 colored speck distributions of H .axyridis in Daming Mountain ,11 species show yellow background ,while the other 3 are black background ,accounting for 64 .86% and 35 .14% of all samples respectively .The majority of H .axyridis with yellow background has 19 spots ,accounting for 25 .00% of the yellow background samples . A field population of seven-spot ladybird, Coccinella Septempunctata Linnaeus, was selected for imidacloprid resistance under laboratory condition to explore the resistant developmental dynamics. After 20 generations, the selected population showed resistance increase of 63.1519 folds compared with that of a susceptible strain. Biological characteristics were also investigated in three groups of C. septempunctata, the resistant strain (R), the susceptible strain (S) and a field population (F). Significant difference was observed in the larval duration among the three groups, larval stage of R, S, and F were 12.36 days, 10.62 days and 9.88 days, respectively. No differences were found in pupal duration. There was slight difference among the three groups in body weights of the 4th instar larvae as well as pupae and male adults. Egg hatching rates were 63.0%, 62.4%, and 66.3% in the prophase, respectively; 64.8%, 58.7%, and 75.6% in the midphase, respectively; and 69.3%, 57.4%, and 75.5%

In order to explore the inhibition effectof Harmonia axyridis (Pallas) andAdonia variegata (Goeze) on red and green pea aphids (Acyrthosiphon pisum Harris) populations and their predation preferences, pea aphids with total densities of 90 head?dish?1, 120 head?dish?1 and 150 head?dish?1 forH. axyridis, and 42 head?dish?1, 60 head?dish?1 and 78 head?dish?1 for A. variegate were used to determine predation preferences ofH. axyridis andA. variegata on two color morphs of pea aphids. Harmonia axyridis(Pallas) is one of the important predators in the field. Its selective coefficient varies with the amount change of these two pest populations,Lachnus tropicalis and Cinara pinea in Forest Farm of Culai Mountain were measured under laboratory conditions. Effect of alternative feeding with artificial diets and whitefly Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) on oviposition of Delphastus catalinae (Horn) were investigated. The results show that adult D. catalinae could all resume to lay eggs within 1-4 days when they were fed with whiteflies after being fed with artificial diet for 15, 25, and 35 days, but oviposition duration and fecundity decreased with increasing of feeding days on artificial diets.
