In order to realize the aim of saving country by education as well as solving the problems of Chinese people’s ignorances caused by the shortage of education, and civilian education, mass education are widely raised in the first half of the twentieth Century. Yan and Tai are the outstanding representatives. Their educational thoughts have distinct people-oriented characteristics, and have important influences on the social development for a long time. Through a comparative study on the origin of the education thoughts, education aim, object, content, method, and educational practice, this paper has a more comprehensive understanding of their educational ideas.
